THERMOGRAPHY

Thermal imaging technology captures thermal radiation to generate color-coded images known as thermographs. In other words, thermal radiation is heat, and thermographs is just a "fancy" name for infrared pictures

Unlike standard cameras, infrared can work in darkness, smoke, or fog, to detect heat signatures that may point out hidden moisture, and mechanical issues.

Thermal cameras detect temperature differences only; they do not interpret whether a spot is a draft, a leak, or just different materials. Thermography serves as a supplemental tool to a standard visual home inspection, but it is not a substitute.

Thermography is a complement to a home inspection, but it is not a replacement
